About the Event.

Welcome back to the greatest party on earth, the one and only Nyege Nyege International Music and Arts Festival at the Source of the Nile in Jinja (Uganda).

Let’s dive deep in an afrogalactical torrent of joy, from 14 to 17th, at the Jinja Golf Course, the 9th edition of Africa’s most adventurous festival.

This year the festival expands beyond its gates and introduces “Nyege in the City”, the festival’s official day time program in the city of Jinja!

Think glamorous day time parties, mind-bending talks and workshops, cozy unplugged live music, enchanted poetry sessions, art exhibitions, fashion pop ups, city tours and activities on the water.

Every day, the festival will close its doors between 8AM and 3PM and the “Nyege in the City” program will happen across multiple venues in Jinja. The full program will be revealed at the end of September.

Back by popular demand, we’re bringing back two iconic Nyege stages: the reggae stage dubbed “Reggae Nyege” for all the lovers of roots, dub, ska, dancehall and reggae and “The Dark Star” that will explore the more obscure corners of African electronic music and beyond. This year’s edition will feature 7 stages and a “secret shack”, alongside all the offsite events.

Nyege Nyege is inviting 5 cultural festivals from all over Uganda to co-curate the “Spirit of UG” stage with traditional music and much to dive into Ugandan cultures like never before!
